Generally, "diet" implies temporary eating changes or deprivation. Remember that drastic diets promising dramatic weight loss in a short time are usually short-lived and tend to lead to the vicious cycle of the Yo-Yo Diet Syndrome. DOES HYPNOSIS WORK?
YES, hypnosis works! People have often tried many different ways to lose weight with only temporary success at best, that they understandably have doubts about hypnosis. The proven fact is, hypnosis really works. How? Think about the difference between your "conscious mind" and "subconscious mind." When you decide to do something, you just do it, such as getting up out of a chair. That is your conscious mind. Your subconscious mind however, is the part of you that operates automatically without conscious thought. It runs your body automatically. You don't have to consciously think about your heart beating for instance. Your body automatically pumps the blood, carries away waste and even makes goose bumps when you are cold. Scientists have recently discovered what hypnotists have known for years: Your subconscious mind responds to your conscious thoughts. If you worry about something, your subconscious mind signals the crew to "go to high alert and man the battle stations." The blood pressure rises, stomach acid increases, pupils dilate, etc.
All of this happens because you had a thought.

FIRST SESSION:
Please allow
two to two and one-half hours for your first visit. This will allow time to view a short video about hypnosis, a review of your lifestyle habits and time to identify your key issues or blocks to reaching your ideal weight. You will then receive your first individual hypnosis session and a reinforcement CD to listen to each night between visits. Educational materials also included.
FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS: Please allow 1-1/2 hours (one hour if time is an issue). Follow-up visits can be scheduled as needed to keep you motivated for to work on additional issues. Each session will include a review of your progress and an individual hypnosis session. Your first follow-up session is included in the introductory package. Weight loss clients receive a special discounted rate for follow-up sessions at $70 each. You will receive a CD of your personalized session at each visit.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL IT TAKE? It's kind of like asking, "How long does it take to read a book?" It depends on how long the book is and how fast you read. You may require several additional reinforcement sessions periodically until you reach your ideal weight. Remember, this is not a quick fix or magic pill. It is unhealthy to lose weight too quickly. An average of one to two pounds per week are ideal. Also remember, you didn't acquire the excess weight overnight. For those who have had life-long issues with weight or food, it is recommended that regular hypnosis sessions be continued until your weight issues are resolved. The number of sessions each person needs will vary. There are no contracts to sign. You make the decision based on your needs and your rate of progress.

MOTIVATION AND DESIRE - Since no one will accept suggestions that go against their desires, it is of utmost importance that you have a strong desire to change your lifestyle and body image. If nothing changes, nothing changes!

COMMITMENT - Losing weight is generally a long-term process, with the length of time determined by the amount of weight you want or need to lose and other factors such as eating habits, metabolism, activity level, and the influence of others in your family and social group, etc. Therefore, it is important that you be committed to continuing with your program until you reach your goal.

RESOLVE TO:
a. LISTEN to your CD each night as you go to sleep.
b. BE WILLING to make changes in your lifestyle.
c. JOURNAL - keep a daily journal of your food and activity.
d. EXERCISE - add regular physical activity. Start slowly.

CONSISTENCY - Regular nightly use of your reinforcement CD and follow-up sessions as needed will keep you motivated and achieve optimum results.

EXPECTATIONS - Realistic expectations are important. You are more than a number on the scale. For some people, it is better not to weigh at all, but to focus instead on how they are feeling emotionally, how their clothes are fitting, and on all the positive changes they are making. The numbers on the scale do not tell the whole story. You can't weigh your self-esteem.
